Childhood is meant to be the happiest time of our life.  As a parent, it is my intention, to provide the environment and connected relationships that allow my children to thrive.

However, I know the reality is often not so simple. For one thing, children are unique and depending on their temperament, some are more difficult than others. Secondly, parenting is a hard job and very stressful at times. Raising children is an ongoing process of doing our best, sometimes making mistakes, reflection and personal growth. And trying again. No-one is a perfect parent. We just have to be good enough. 

In my role as a teacher and emotional wellbeing practitioner, I work with children to help them develop a strong sense of self and to equip them with skills and strategies, personal resources and knowledge to cultivate resilience so they can better handle life's ups and downs, stay connected to their true selves and thrive in their home and school life.  At the same time, I work with parents so they can teach their children emotional intelligence and apply it when dealing with emotions, setting limits and problem solving. 

Ultimately, I am helping children develop the life skills required to live a joyful, connected and successful life.
